Best 3PL Companies for Small Ecommerce Brands in 2026
Eight fulfillment companies compared on published per-order rates, monthly minimums and contract terms for stores shipping a few hundred orders a month, read on vendor pages on 18 October 2026.
Fulfyld is the best 3PL for most small ecommerce brands in 2026: its pricing page prints an all-in rate from $7.98 per order at 0 to 250 orders a month, with postage, packaging and five picks included, and it lists no monthly minimum. Amplifier has the lowest entry floor, a $100 monthly account fee with no shipment minimums, though postage and packaging are billed on top.
Simpl Fulfillment starts at $7 per order including postage but carries a $750 monthly minimum, so it fits a store already past about 100 orders. Saltbox suits a brand that wants to pack its own orders from a shared warehouse. ShipMonk, ShipBob, Fulfillrite and Shipfusion quote every account, and Shipfusion says it typically works with brands shipping 2,000 or more orders a month.

- 8 tools compared: Fulfyld, Amplifier, Simpl Fulfillment, Saltbox, ShipMonk, ShipBob, Fulfillrite, Shipfusion
- Amplifier (best for: Very small brands that want no shipment minimum and month-to-month terms): $100/mo account fee; order pick fee from $2.15 plus $0.95 per item at 1-100 orders; postage extra
- Simpl Fulfillment (best for: Brands past about 100 orders a month that want a flat rate with no setup or receiving fees): From $7/order flat by weight, incl. postage and 3 picks; $750/mo minimum, pay-the-difference
- Saltbox (best for: Founders who want to pack their own orders from a shared warehouse, with fulfillment help on demand): Scale membership $349/mo; Saltbox Fulfillment from $3/unit; flex storage $10/pallet/day
Only 4 of the 10 fulfillment pricing pages we read on 18 October 2026 print a rate a small brand can price before a sales call. For a store shipping 50 to 300 orders a month, that matters more than warehouse count or robot demos, because the real question is whether a 3PL's minimum swallows your margin before the per-order rate even kicks in.
This ranking puts published, all-in pricing first, then the size of the monthly floor, then contract terms. The quote-only providers rank lower not because they are worse warehouses but because a small brand cannot check their fit without a sales process. If you still ship from home, start with our shipping software ranking and the cheapest label printers; a 3PL is the next step, not the first.

Fulfyld
The clearest published rate card here: one per-order number that includes postage, packaging and five picks.
- Pricing
- From $7.98/order all-in at 0-250 orders/mo (4-12 oz, standard shipping); bins from $2.50/mo
Best for: Small brands that want one all-in per-order price with postage included and no long contract
Pros
- The rate at 0 to 250 orders a month includes postage, the label, standard packaging and five picks per order.
- Storage starts at $2.50 a month for a small bin and $32 for a pallet, and drops at each volume tier.
- Add-ons are published: returns at $3.50 for the first item plus $0.50 each, UPC labels at $0.40.
Cons
- The pricing page says orders ship from one warehouse, so coast-to-coast transit is slower than on multi-node 3PLs.
- Items past the fifth pick cost $0.50 each, and receiving after the first 2 free hours is $40 an hour.
Amplifier
The lowest fixed floor on the list, with instant signup and no commitment, but freight and packaging billed separately.
- Pricing
- $100/mo account fee; order pick fee from $2.15 plus $0.95 per item at 1-100 orders; postage extra
Best for: Very small brands that want no shipment minimum and month-to-month terms
Pros

- Graduated pick fees fall to $2.05 per order from the 101st order and $1.95 from the 1,000th.
- Storage is published at $1 a month for a small bin, $2 for a standard bin and $30 per pallet.
Cons
- Freight and packaging are charged on top, so the published fees are not an all-in order cost.
- The standard plan covers one order source plus manual orders, with email support answering in 8 to 24 business hours.
Simpl Fulfillment
A weight-based flat rate that includes postage, with no setup, onboarding or receiving fees and a monthly floor.
- Pricing
- From $7/order flat by weight, incl. postage and 3 picks; $750/mo minimum, pay-the-difference
Best for: Brands past about 100 orders a month that want a flat rate with no setup or receiving fees
Pros
- The flat rate covers 3 picks, postage via UPS, USPS or FedEx, pick-and-pack and packaging.
- No setup fees, no onboarding charges and no receiving fees, per the pricing page FAQ.
- Orders placed by 12 pm CT ship the same day, from an Austin, Texas team.
Cons
- The monthly minimum means a 50-order month costs the same as about 100 orders at the starting rate.
- Storage is billed by bin, shelf or pallet with no published rate, so ask for it before you compare.
Saltbox
A shared warehouse membership with packing stations and carrier pickups, plus optional staff fulfillment per unit.
- Pricing
- Scale membership $349/mo; Saltbox Fulfillment from $3/unit; flex storage $10/pallet/day

- Saltbox Fulfillment starts at $3 per unit when you want its team to pick, pack and ship.
- Operations support staff start at $45 an hour for peak weeks, with no full-time hire.
Cons
- You work from a Saltbox location, so it only fits brands near one of its cities.
- Receiving overages cost $10 per package and $20 per pallet past the Scale allowance.
ShipMonk
A quote-only 3PL that at least publishes how its monthly minimum is calculated.
- Pricing
- Custom quote; monthly minimum equals monthly orders x first-item pick fee, less 20%
Best for: Growing brands that want a multi-warehouse 3PL and can live with a quoted monthly minimum
Pros
- The pricing FAQ explains the minimum: projected monthly volume times your first-item pick fee, reduced by 20%.
- Detailed invoicing breaks out pick-and-pack, receiving and returns charges.
- Services include B2B, marketplace and cross-border fulfillment for when a small brand adds channels.
Cons
- No pick fee, storage or receiving rate is published, so you cannot price it without a proposal.
- The minimum is set from your projected volume, so a slow month still pays most of a forecast month.
ShipBob
The best-known DTC 3PL, quote-only, with technology and analytics included at no extra cost.
- Pricing
- Custom quote; standard fees cover implementation, receiving, storage and pick-pack-ship
Best for: DTC brands planning to grow into several warehouses and 2-day shipping
Pros
- The pricing page lists its standard fee lines up front: implementation, receiving, warehousing and pick-pack-ship.
- Analytics, technology and expansion into new locations come at no additional cost, per ShipBob.
- Each fulfillment center has on-site customer support reps.
Cons
- Every quote is custom, so a small brand cannot see a single rate before a sales call.
- Implementation is a standard fee line, and kitting or other special needs cost extra.
Fulfillrite
A quote-only 3PL whose quote form accepts start-ups and crowdfunding projects, with no long-term contracts.
- Pricing
- Custom quote; no long-term contracts; quote form accepts start-ups at 0 orders
Best for: Start-ups and crowdfunding brands that want a named account rep and no long contract
Pros
- Same-day receiving and shipping, and no long-term contracts, per its pricing page.
- A dedicated account manager reachable by phone or email.
- Its quote form starts at a 0 or start-up volume band, so a pre-launch brand can ask.
Cons
- No rate of any kind is published, so the comparison starts only after a quote.
- The page names Shopify, WooCommerce and Amazon integrations; confirm your cart before you sign.
Shipfusion
A quote-only 3PL for scaling DTC brands, listed here as the step after a small-brand provider.
- Pricing
- Custom quote; typically works with brands shipping 2,000+ orders a month
Best for: Brands that have outgrown a small 3PL and ship thousands of orders a month
Pros
- The pricing page explains its quote: first pick, consecutive picks at a reduced rate, inserts, returns and storage.
- Storage is billed by pallet location, with temperature-controlled storage available.
- Receiving is priced by how inventory arrives, with single-SKU pallets the cheapest to receive.
Cons
- Its typical client ships 2,000 or more orders a month, well past most small brands.
- No rate is published, so a small brand cannot test the fit without a sales call.
What it is
A 3PL (third-party logistics provider) is a company that stores your inventory in its warehouse and picks, packs and ships each order when it sells, billing you for storage, handling and usually postage. Shipping software like ShipStation or Shippo only buys labels; a 3PL takes the warehouse off your hands.
For a small brand the bill has four parts: a per-order handling fee, per-item picks, storage by bin or pallet, and postage. Some providers fold all four into one number; others quote each line. Our ShipStation vs Shippo comparison covers the in-house route if those numbers do not work yet.
Why it matters
Retailpresso data: Of the 10 3PL pricing pages we read on 18 October 2026, 4 publish a rate (Fulfyld, Amplifier, Simpl Fulfillment and Saltbox) and 6 are quote-only. Two of the four print a per-order rate that already includes postage, which is the only kind of number a small brand can compare without a spreadsheet.
Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, evaluated 271 logistics and operations tools for its October 2026 logistics ranking, and 2 of its 10 top picks have a free plan. Paid, quote-led pricing is the norm in this category, so a published rate card is the exception.
Our cost scenario, built from the printed rates: at 50 orders a month, Fulfyld's starting rate comes to $399 with postage included, Simpl bills its monthly floor, and Amplifier's account fee plus order pick fees reach $207.50 before item picks, packaging and postage. At 200 orders, Fulfyld comes to $1,596, Simpl to $1,400 at its starting rate, and Amplifier to $520 before those extras. The cheapest-looking floor is not the cheapest bill once postage is added, so compare all-in rates first.
Key features to look for
Pricing
Prices were read on each vendor's own pricing page on 18 October 2026: Fulfyld pricing, Amplifier pricing, Simpl Fulfillment pricing, Saltbox pricing, ShipMonk pricing, ShipBob pricing, Fulfillrite pricing and Shipfusion pricing. Fulfyld's rate is for a 4 to 12 oz order on standard shipping at 0 to 250 orders a month, and Simpl's starting rate is its lightest weight tier, so heavier products cost more on both.
Methodology: we read 10 fulfillment pricing pages and kept eight that serve ecommerce brands; Red Stag Fulfillment and eFulfillment Service publish no rates and gave too little to compare. The order puts a published all-in rate first, then the size of the monthly floor, then contract terms. The cost scenario multiplies the printed starting rates by 50 and 200 orders and adds only fees the page prints, so it excludes storage, extra picks and any quoted line.
| Plan | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Fulfyld, standard shipping | $7.98/order | 0-250 orders a month, 4-12 oz; postage, packaging and 5 picks included |
| Fulfyld, expedited shipping | $8.79/order | 1-4 day delivery at 0-250 orders a month |
| Fulfyld, international | $10.66/order | International order at 0-250 orders a month |
| Fulfyld storage | $2.50 to $32/mo | Small bin to pallet at the starter tier; lower at higher volume |
| Amplifier account | $100/mo | Up to 10 users, one order source, no commitment |
| Amplifier pick fees, 1-100 orders | $2.15/order + $0.95/item | Freight and packaging billed separately |
| Amplifier pick fees, 1,000-2,500 orders | $1.95/order + $0.85/item | Graduated: each tier applies to the orders inside it |
| Amplifier storage | $1 to $30/mo | Small bin to standard pallet; receiving $45 an hour |
| Simpl Fulfillment | From $7/order | Flat rate by weight with postage, packaging and 3 picks |
| Simpl monthly minimum | $750/mo | Pay-the-difference floor on fulfillment fees |
| Saltbox Virtual | $99/mo | Business address and mail handling, no packages |
| Saltbox Scale | $349/mo | Shared warehouse access, 100 packages and 10 pallets received a month |
| Saltbox Fulfillment | From $3/unit | Saltbox staff pick, pack and ship from your space |
| ShipMonk | Custom | Monthly minimum from projected volume and first-item pick fee |
| ShipBob | Custom | Implementation, receiving, storage and pick-pack-ship lines |
| Fulfillrite | Custom | No long-term contracts; start-ups can request a quote |
| Shipfusion | Custom | Built for brands shipping 2,000+ orders a month |
The bottom line
For most small ecommerce brands, Fulfyld is the 3PL to price first, because its page prints one all-in rate with postage included and lists no monthly minimum. Amplifier is the cheapest way to start at a very low volume, as long as you add postage and packaging to its fees. Simpl Fulfillment becomes competitive once your fulfillment fees clear its floor, and Saltbox fits a founder who still wants to pack orders.
ShipMonk, ShipBob, Fulfillrite and Shipfusion are worth a quote when you are closer to their volume, and ShipBob and ShipMonk have Toolradar profiles for a second read. Before you move stock, line up your inventory software, an order management system and a returns tool that connect to your 3PL, and check your Shopify plan's integrations. Print-on-demand sellers usually skip a 3PL entirely: see our print-on-demand ranking and how to start a print-on-demand business. Amazon sellers should weigh FBA in our Amazon seller fees guide.
