The Best Product Research Tools in 2026

Helium 10 publishes $99 and $279 a month on yearly. Jungle Scout's extra seats are $49. The rest of this list is free data you already have.

TL;DR

Helium 10 yearly: Platinum $99 a month ($129 monthly), Diamond $279 ($359 monthly), Enterprise from $1,499 a month yearly. Jungle Scout extra seats are $49 a month or $459 a year on the official site. Catalyst plan dollars did not render on a fetch of the pricing page on 26 August 2026; check junglescout.com/pricing. Amazon Brand Analytics, Google Trends and the limited Helium 10 Chrome extension are free.

Product research tools promise a winning ASIN. They bill as a suite, a seat add-on or nothing. Helium 10 sells research inside Platinum and Diamond. Jungle Scout sells Catalyst and Cobalt, and the public page we loaded hid the Catalyst dollars.

Amazon already gives Brand Analytics to sellers. Google Trends is free and coarse.

This is not the reimbursement-and-ads list. Fee recovery and PPC platforms live on a different page. The job here is deciding what to launch or copy, and what that decision costs.

Platinum caps (keyword searches, ASINs, markets) are the upsell to Diamond
Diamond's $279 is an ops-and-ads plan. Do not buy it only for research

What it is

A product research tool estimates demand, competition and fees on a marketplace listing before you buy inventory. Paid suites add reverse-ASIN keywords, Chrome overlays and historical charts. Free tools are the marketplace's own brand reports and public search-interest charts. None of them is a purchase order. They are inputs into one.

Why it matters

The meter on Helium 10 is the plan band plus usage caps (searches, ASINs, markets). Platinum at $99 yearly is the research plan for under $100k sales. Diamond at $279 adds ads and ops. Paying Diamond for Black Box searches you could do on Platinum is the usual overbuy.

Skipping Brand Analytics because a Chrome extension felt more official is the usual underbuy.

Key features to look for

Whose data it is
Seller Central, a third-party scrape or Google. The first is yours. The second is a model.
Plan versus add-on
Helium 10's research sits on Platinum. Jungle Scout seats are $49 extra. Those are different invoices.
Search and ASIN caps
A $99 plan with 100 keyword searches a month is not unlimited research.
Chrome overlay
Useful in the search results. Not a substitute for Brand Analytics on your own ASINs.
What it will not tell you
Supplier cost, returns and whether the category is a trap. The tool does not place the PO.
Mistakes to avoid
×Paying Diamond at $279 for research you could do on Platinum at $99, or for ads you will not run in Helium 10.
×Skipping Brand Analytics because a Chrome extension felt more like software. Amazon already has the search terms.
×Pasting a third-party Jungle Scout price table into a budget. We could not load Catalyst dollars from the official page.
Expert tips
Open Brand Analytics and Google Trends on the idea before you buy Platinum. If both look dead, $99 will not save the PO.
On Helium 10, match the plan to yearly sales and to the tool caps, not to the "Most Popular" label.
If you already pay Jungle Scout, add a $49 seat before you add Helium 10 for the same reverse-ASIN workflow.

The bottom line

Start with Amazon Brand Analytics and Google Trends. They are free. Buy Helium 10 Platinum at $99 a month yearly when you need Black Box and a full Chrome overlay. Treat Jungle Scout as a suite you confirm on their pricing page; extra seats are $49.

Do not buy Diamond only for research. Fee recovery and ads are a different Retailpresso list.
