Gooten Review

The membership fee, the shirt figures Gooten marks as volume discounts, and what five rivals charge for the same kind of order.

Product links may be affiliate links. How we rate 5 alternatives covered
TL;DR

Gooten is worth it in 2026 when a monthly fee is the cost you want to avoid. There is no membership fee, and you pay for the product plus shipping after a sale. The comparison page lists a Gildan 5000 at $6.99 and a Bella+Canvas 3001 at $8.65, marked as volume discounts from 400 orders a month.

A store under that order count cannot budget from the table, because those shirt figures are a volume example, and a smaller shop will be invoiced something else. Printify and Printful publish Gildan prices with no volume footnote, so a new store can set a retail price before it opens an account. Gelato and CustomCat trade a monthly seat for a product discount, which pays only when the discount clears the seat. Prodigi keeps its price list inside an account, the same limit Gooten puts on everyday catalog rates.

  • Updated: October 19, 2026
  • Best for: Merchants who want no monthly seat and can price blanks inside an account
  • Price as of October 19, 2026: No monthly fee. Pay product plus shipping. Public unit prices are marked as volume discounts.
  • Managed routing with no platform rent, and public unit prices that only show the volume example.
  • Membership fee: There is no membership fee.
  • Catalog: The comparison page lists 500+ products.
  • Billing: Gooten bills merchants in US dollars.
  • Alternatives covered: Printify, Printful, Gelato, CustomCat, Prodigi

Pros

  • Billing is in US dollars after the store is paid, so a quiet month adds no platform invoice.
  • Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, TikTok Shop and an API are on the comparison page, and the Shopify app is free.
  • Growing Brand adds a 30 to 60 minute onboarding call, custom branding and a sample credit.

Cons

  • Published unit prices are marked as volume discounts, so a smaller store is reading a sales example.
  • Starting Out, the level for 250 orders a month or fewer, does not include the onboarding call, branding or sample credit.
  • Gooten routes the order, and a second page describes the network as 70+ locations rather than 110+ facilities.

Gooten is a managed print network, and a blank cost waits until you open an account. A store that needs a blank cost before it creates an account will get a number faster from Printify or Printful, and it can price the product the same day.

A store that already knows its monthly order count, and that wants one vendor to route the work, is the buyer Gooten is built for, because the platform line stays off the invoice while the unit rate has to be requested.

Toolradar data: Gooten ranks third by review count among the 11 print-on-demand tools Toolradar tracks, at 4.40 out of 5 from 487 reviews, as of 16 October 2026.

Printify leads that set at 4.60 from 7,640 reviews.

The method is on the print-on-demand statistics page, and the profiles are Gooten, Printify and Printful.

The wider catalog is the print-on-demand directory.

Methodology: prices were checked on 17 October 2026 on Gooten's comparison page, its payment article and its print-on-demand page, plus the plan pages for Printify, Printful, Gelato, CustomCat and Prodigi.

The order math is ours. It multiplies each vendor's published figure and it is not a matched production run. This page is the Gooten bill.

The Printify review, the Printful review and the print-on-demand services roundup answer different questions.

What is Gooten?

Gooten connects a store to a network of production facilities, so you list a design and do not choose the factory that prints it. The customer pays your store, Gooten charges you for production and shipping, and then it routes the order.

You set the retail price, and Gooten does not take a cut of that price on top of the production bill, so margin is what remains after the invoice.

The comparison page offers 500+ products and 110+ facilities in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia, which suits a store selling into more than one of those regions.

The print-on-demand FAQ instead says orders route to one of 70+ locations, and another answer on that page says 30+ manufacturers.

Those three counts are not the same claim, so confirm routing on a live order before you promise a customer a delivery date.

The comparison page reports a holiday average of 1.56 production days, 99.9% print accuracy and 95% on-time shipping.

That scorecard is a peak-season report, so it is the wrong clock for an ordinary order. The product page states an under-3-day SLA and 99% accuracy, while its FAQ says production and shipping can each take 2 to 5 business days, which is the window to quote.

How Gooten works

You connect a store or call the API. The comparison page names Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and TikTok Shop, and the Shopify app is free, so that store adds no app charge on top of production.

After the customer pays your store, Gooten charges product plus shipping to the card or PayPal on the account.

The payment article, updated 19 January 2026, says there is no membership fee and that billing is in US dollars, so the invoice stays in dollars even when the store sells in another currency.

A Shopify setting that shows the customer free shipping does not wipe Gooten's shipping charge.

Standard shipping is billed unless you use advanced shipping rules, which means a free-delivery banner comes out of your margin.

Gooten can also charge the merchant sales tax where a threshold is crossed, unless a reseller certificate is on file, and customs are left to the recipient.

The article says Gooten is not giving tax advice, so a US store still needs its own read on nexus before it treats the production bill as the full cost.

The comparison page splits merchants into three levels, and none of them shows a seat price, so moving up leaves the platform bill at zero.

Starting Out covers stores at 250 orders a month or fewer: the catalog, a setup tutorial, the network and the integrations. Growing Brand runs up to 10,000 orders a month and adds a 30 to 60 minute onboarding call, custom API work, volume pricing, early product access, a priority lane, custom branding and a sample credit.

Established is above 10,000 orders a month: a dedicated manager, peak planning, routing controls, expedited 2 day production, SOC 2, a cloud order system and developer logs.

A store between 251 and 399 orders is described as Growing Brand, and it should ask which rate card that status actually opens, because enterprise pricing is a separate line from the level name.

Gooten key features

No membership feeEssential
The bill is the product, which already includes the print, plus shipping, charged after the store is paid. A month with no sales does not add a platform invoice.
Managed routingEssential
Gooten picks the facility, so you do not shop providers the way a Printify seller does. A quality miss becomes a support ticket, since Gooten chose the facility.
Store integrations and an APIEssential
Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, TikTok Shop and a REST API are the paths on the comparison page. The Shopify app is described as free, which keeps an app charge off a store that is already on Shopify.
Volume pricing at the enterprise benchmark
The comparison page sets an order-count benchmark for enterprise pricing. Below it, the unit costs in the public table are the wrong number for a budget.
Branding and a sample credit on Growing Brand
Custom branding and a sample credit are listed on Growing Brand, not on Starting Out. A new store pays the ordinary product price to inspect quality, so the first sample is a real cost.

Gooten pricing

Prices below were checked on 17 October 2026.

Gooten's comparison page is the public price table, its payment article is the fee policy, and the print-on-demand page repeats that use of the platform has no upfront fee.

Everyday catalog rates sit in the account, so the public table is a volume example.

That table, which Gooten marks as reflecting volume discounts, lists a Gildan 5000 at $6.99 and a Bella+Canvas 3001 at $8.65, plus an 11oz white mug at $3.41 and a 16 by 20 canvas at $16.42.

Shipping is not in those figures, so each one understates the cash that leaves the account. 400 times the Gildan figure is $2,796 before shipping, and that is the month Gooten says enterprise pricing can start.

A store below that count should ask for its own rate card before it treats the row as an invoice.

Printify's pricing page has a free plan for 5 stores and Premium from $39 a month, with a lower yearly rate in the table.

Premium lists up to 20% off all products and up to 33% off new products, which is the discount that seat is buying.

The t-shirt guide starts a Gildan 5000 at $8.80, or $5.92 on Premium, and a Bella+Canvas 3001 at $10.98, or $8.77 on Premium.

Our count, shipping excluded, puts the same order count at $3,520 on the free-plan Gildan start and $2,368 on the Premium start.

Adding one month of the seat makes $2,407, which is $389 under Gooten's volume example before shipping. The guide says domestic US shipping for one shirt typically runs $3.50 to $5.00, and fourteen shirts at the gap between those two Gildan starts cover one monthly Premium seat.

Gooten's volume Bella example is $0.12 under Printify's Premium Bella start, and these are each company's published figure rather than one size and color produced twice.

Printful's pricing page keeps the account free.

Growth adds a 14-day trial, a product discount, and a fee that is waived after $12,000 of sales in a year, with the monthly amount and the discount percentage in the table.

The Gildan 5000 page lists an offer of $7.50, and the Bella+Canvas 3001 page lists $12.25.

Both include the blank, one placement and fulfillment, shipping is extra, and Printful says the catalog price can vary by location, so price the location that will print the order.

The same order count at that Gildan offer is $3,000, which is $204 over Gooten's volume example.

Inside labels are $0.99 and outside labels are $2.49, on top of the product price, so a branded label is a separate line. Free-plan samples are 20% off, one order a month, up to 3 items, which covers a quality check and stops there.

The shirt math for a single blank is on the t-shirt print-on-demand page, and the head-to-head is Printful vs Printify.

Gelato's plan page is free for 2 stores and 2 users, with local production in 32 countries, which suits an order made near the buyer.

Gelato+ is $29.99 a month, or $19.99 a month when the $239.88 year is paid up front, with a product discount and unlimited stores, while Platinum is custom.

The plan page does not list a shirt price, so the discount has no public blank beside it, and you cannot tell whether the seat beats Gooten's volume example until you price a product.

The subscription article adds local tax to Gelato+ for US customers, so a US store pays more than the sticker price.

The plan page is also advertising 30 days of free standard shipping with Gelato+. Read that as a current offer on the page, not as a permanent shipping waiver.

CustomCat's plan guide keeps Lite free at standard wholesale, and PRO is $30 a month or $300 a year.

The guide says 10 to 15 items a month typically cover the PRO fee, and our count on its t-shirt example, $9.58 on Lite and $6.90 on PRO, is a $2.68 gap, so 12 of those shirts cover one PRO month.

An 11oz mug in the same guide is $6.82 on Lite and $3.75 on PRO, and Gooten's 11oz mug example is a different line, so do not subtract one from the other and call it savings.

Enterprise is custom, and the guide describes US production, which leaves it a weak fit when the order should print in Europe or Australia.

Prodigi's payments FAQ says signup is free and that the price list is inside the account, so there is no public product price to set next to Gooten's volume example.

Prodigi Pro is £35 a month when paid annually, or £40 a month, priced in pounds. Pro is 15% off most products and 10% off apparel, and the first sample is 50% off, limited to one product type.

Orders from Prodigi's US facilities are billed in US dollars, while the plan fee on the English page is not, so a US seller pays the seat in pounds and the orders in dollars.

Gooten pros and cons

What we like

  • Billing is in US dollars after the store is paid, so a quiet month adds no platform invoice.
  • Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, TikTok Shop and an API are on the comparison page, and the Shopify app is free.
  • Growing Brand adds a 30 to 60 minute onboarding call, custom branding and a sample credit.

What could be better

  • Published unit prices are marked as volume discounts, so a smaller store is reading a sales example.
  • Starting Out, the level for 250 orders a month or fewer, does not include the onboarding call, branding or sample credit.
  • Gooten routes the order, and a second page describes the network as 70+ locations rather than 110+ facilities.

Who Gooten is for

Gooten fits a store that is already near a few hundred orders a month and wants one company to route production across the US, Canada, Europe and Australia. The API and the Shopify app are why an operator with more than one storefront looks here.

The print-on-demand startup guide is the prior step if the store does not exist yet.

Skip Gooten if you need a blank cost on a public page this week. Printify prints a Gildan start and a Premium start, and Printful prints a product-page offer, so both let you set a retail price before you talk to sales.

CustomCat fits a US-only bench that will pay PRO once the published example covers the seat. Gelato fits orders that should be produced in several countries, after you price the product in its catalog, because the plan page does not.

Skip Gooten when you want to choose the factory.

Routing is the product, so a missed standard becomes a ticket rather than a provider swap.

The Printful alternatives page is the marketplace side of that choice, and Etsy sellers should read the Etsy print-on-demand roundup before treating a production bill as the whole margin.

The bottom line

Gooten is worth the move when the monthly seat is what you are trying not to pay, and when you can get a rate card from the account. The comparison page's Gildan and Bella figures are real published numbers, and they are labeled as volume discounts, so under the enterprise benchmark they are a sales example.

Printify Premium's published Gildan math comes out lower than that example once the seat is added, so check that gap before you call this network the cheap option.

Printful fits when you want a product-page offer and in-house production, and you can carry the Growth fee until the sales waiver.

Gelato fits when the order should be made near the customer, after you price the SKU, because the plan page never shows a shirt. CustomCat fits US production once the PRO example covers the seat.

Prodigi fits wall art if a price list behind a login is acceptable, the same trade Gooten asks on everyday rates.

Frequently asked questions

Is Gooten worth it in 2026?

Yes, if keeping a platform seat off the invoice is the point and you can price products inside the account. No, if you need a public blank cost before you sell. Gooten names 400 orders a month as the enterprise-pricing benchmark, and the shirt rows are marked as volume discounts, so a store under that count is reading a sales example. Printify and Printful publish shirt prices with no volume footnote. Prices were checked on vendor pages in October 2026.

How much does Gooten cost?

There is no membership fee. You pay the product, which includes the print, plus shipping, billed in US dollars after the customer pays your store. The public comparison table lists a Gildan 5000 at $6.99, a Bella+Canvas 3001 at $8.65, an 11oz mug at $3.41 and a 16 by 20 canvas at $16.42, and Gooten marks that table as reflecting volume discounts. The Gildan production total at the enterprise benchmark is $2,796 before shipping. A store under that volume should not use the table as its invoice.

Does Gooten have a free plan?

It does not sell a named free tier with a feature cap. Starting Out, Growing Brand and Established are volume levels, not priced seats, so moving up does not add a platform invoice by itself. You still pay production and shipping on every order, including a month spent only on samples. The sample credit and custom branding sit on Growing Brand, so a new store inspects quality at the ordinary product price.

Gooten vs Printify: which is cheaper?

On published Gildan 5000 figures, Printify's free-plan start is $8.80 and its Premium start is $5.92. The same order count at the Premium start, plus one month of Premium at $39, comes to $2,407. Gooten's volume example at $6.99 comes to $2,796 for that count, so Premium is $389 lower before shipping. That comparison uses each company's published figure, not one shirt produced at both, so price your own size and color before you bank the gap. Printify lets you drop a weak provider, while Gooten routes the order and a miss becomes a ticket.

Gooten vs Printful: which is the better fit?

Printful is the better fit when you want a product-page price and in-house production. Its Gildan 5000 offer is $7.50 and its Bella+Canvas 3001 offer is $12.25, each including one placement and fulfillment, with shipping extra. The same count at that Gildan offer is $3,000, which is $204 over Gooten's volume example, and that gap holds only if Gooten actually gives you the volume rate. Gooten is the better fit when you want no Growth fee and you accept managed routing. Printful Growth stays on the monthly plan in the table until the yearly sales waiver.

Does Gooten charge shipping if my store offers free shipping?

Yes. The payment article says a Shopify free-shipping setting does not change Gooten's bill, so the banner is a discount your margin funds. Orders use standard shipping unless you set advanced shipping rules, and Gooten charges that shipping on top of the product. Customs on international orders are left to the recipient, which can add a bill the buyer did not expect. Build the shipping line into the retail price before you advertise free delivery.
