ShipStation vs Veeqo 2026: Paid Plans or Free Shipping?

ShipStation vs Veeqo in 2026: ShipStation runs $14.99 to $349.99 a month at 50 shipments, Veeqo ships free and sells inventory tools from $19. Who should pay.

ShipStation vs Veeqo 2026: Paid Plans or Free Shipping?

Veeqo is the better buy for most multichannel sellers in 2026, because its Shipping plan costs $0 with unlimited shipments and users, while ShipStation starts at $14.99 a month for 50 shipments and charges more as volume grows. ShipStation wins for teams that need its own carrier accounts on every rate, LTL freight, branded returns and tracking, or 3PL add-ons. Prices read 19 October 2026.

The split is about business model more than features. ShipStation sells software by the shipment; Veeqo, owned by Amazon since 2021, gives its shipping tool away and earns a commission on the labels you buy through it, according to its pricing FAQ. One charges you a subscription, the other is paid through your postage, and that changes which seller each one fits.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 46 shipping and fulfillment tools as of 19 October 2026, and ShipStation is the most compared of them, with 243 side-by-side comparisons on the site over the last 90 days. Sellers who compare it are usually weighing whether its subscription buys enough over a free tool, which is the question this page answers.

What ShipStation charges

ShipStation is a subscription priced by shipment band, and every tier climbs with volume. Starter covers 50 to 5,000 shipments a month, while Standard and Premium run to 100,000. Each tier's page entry also lists "+$0.000 per label", so the band price is the whole software bill.

Monthly shipments Starter Standard Premium
100 $29.99 $59.99 $399.99
1,000 $79.99 $149.99 $599.99
5,000 $174.99 $249.99 $799.99

Starter is a label printer with rate shopping, and little else. It includes 3 users, unlimited store connections, automated rate shopping, return labels, basic automations and LTL freight quotes, but no own carrier accounts, no branded tracking page, no returns portal and no inventory sync. For a seller who only buys discounted labels, that is a lot to pay for what Veeqo gives away.

Standard is the tier most growing teams need. It adds 10 users, unlimited automation rules, your existing carrier accounts (domestic and international), order combining and auto-split, branded tracking and returns, inventory sync, lot and serial tracking, API access and phone support. Premium adds 15 users, purchase orders, scan to receive, forecasting, auto-routing between locations and pick to tote; it is priced for a warehouse operation, not a store owner. The full plan ladder sits in our ShipStation pricing breakdown.

What Veeqo charges

Veeqo's Shipping plan is free for unlimited orders, users, products and warehouses. It covers bulk shipping of up to 100 orders in one click, customizable print templates, a rate shopping API, reporting with a profit analyzer and integrations with Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Walmart, WooCommerce and Rithum. Labels use Veeqo's pre-negotiated rates with Amazon Shipping, UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL and OnTrac.

Veeqo also pays you back on postage. Its pages say you earn up to 5% of a shipment's base value in Veeqo Credits, taken off your next bill. That rebate only works if you buy labels through Veeqo, which is the point of the model.

The Inventory plan is where Veeqo starts charging. It adds automated inventory sync across channels, demand forecasting, digital picking with the Veeqo scanner, unlimited multichannel listings, an AI seller assistant and an MCP connector. Veeqo prints a price range for each monthly order band rather than a single figure:

Monthly orders Veeqo Inventory Veeqo High Volume
Up to 300 From $19 From $350 (up to 5,000)
701 to 1,000 $37 to $50 Entry band (up to 5,000)
2,501 to 5,000 $88 to $150 Entry band (up to 5,000)
5,001 to 10,000 $150 to $275 $351 to $575

High Volume adds ERP integrations such as NetSuite, priority support, an account manager and API consulting. Orders fulfilled by Amazon through FBA do not count toward the order volume, per Veeqo's FAQ, so an Amazon seller with a large FBA share pays on merchant-fulfilled orders only. Our Veeqo review covers the product itself.

The bill at three order volumes

Our cost table: what the software alone costs each month at three volumes, monthly billing, postage excluded, using the band prices above. ShipStation counts shipments and Veeqo counts imported orders; for a store that ships one parcel per order, the two numbers match.

Volume per month ShipStation Starter ShipStation Standard Veeqo Shipping Veeqo Inventory
100 $29.99 $59.99 $0 From $19
1,000 $79.99 $149.99 $0 $37 to $50
5,000 $174.99 $249.99 $0 $88 to $150

For label buying alone, Veeqo costs nothing at every volume, so ShipStation has to earn its fee elsewhere. At 1,000 shipments, Standard costs $1,799.88 a year on monthly billing, the monthly price times 12. That money buys your own carrier contracts, branded post-purchase pages and 10 logins, and it is worth paying only if you use them.

Postage is the number neither page prints. A seller with negotiated UPS or FedEx rates can bring them to ShipStation Standard; a seller without them leans on each tool's discounted rates, and Veeqo adds its credits on top. Run a week of real parcels through both rate shoppers before you commit to either.

When you also need inventory

This is where the gap is widest. ShipStation keeps purchase orders and forecasting on Premium, so a 1,000-shipment store that wants reorder help pays $599.99 a month there. Veeqo's Inventory plan includes demand forecasting and inventory sync for $37 to $50 a month in the 701 to 1,000 order band.

Over a year of monthly billing, that is $7,199.88 for ShipStation Premium against at most $600 for Veeqo Inventory at that volume. Premium does buy more depth: scan to receive, auto-routing between locations, pick to tote, custom dashboards and Cubiscan support. A multi-warehouse operation that needs those may still choose it, but a store that wants stock levels synced across Amazon and Shopify does not need Premium to get there.

Inventory sync alone is closer. ShipStation Standard includes it, at $149.99 for 1,000 shipments, and many sellers already on Standard for carrier accounts get sync with no extra bill. For a broader list of stock tools, see the best inventory management software.

Where ShipStation earns its price

Own carrier accounts are the main reason to pay. A brand with a negotiated UPS or FedEx contract keeps those rates on ShipStation Standard. Veeqo's pricing page lists only its own pre-negotiated carrier rates, so check its help center before assuming your contract carries over.

Freight and returns are the other two. ShipStation lets every plan compare, quote and book LTL shipments and generate bills of lading, which a store shipping pallets to retailers will use weekly. From Standard up it also runs a branded returns and exchanges portal, no-box returns and RMA workflows, where Veeqo's pricing page lists none.

Fulfillment, 3PL manager and dropship manager are add-ons on every ShipStation tier, at a fee its page does not print. A store that plans to use them should get the add-on price in writing before choosing a plan. Sellers who want other options can compare the ShipStation alternatives ranking, or the head to head in ShipStation vs Shippo.

Where Veeqo falls short

Veeqo's free plan is free because you buy postage through Veeqo. If your margins depend on your own carrier contract, the free price may cost more than ShipStation's fee once postage is counted. The trade is real, and it only shows on the postage invoice.

The Inventory plan is priced in ranges, so the exact bill inside a band is not printed. A store near the top of the 701 to 1,000 band should budget on the upper figure. The jump to High Volume at $350 is also steep: it buys ERP links and an account manager, not more inventory features.

Ownership matters to some sellers. Veeqo is part of Amazon, and its integrations favor Amazon Shipping and FBA order handling. A brand that sells mostly on Shopify and wants a vendor independent of a marketplace may prefer ShipStation for that reason alone.

Which one to pick

Pick Veeqo if you sell on Amazon plus one or two other channels, buy labels at the tool's rates and want inventory sync without a large bill. The Shipping plan covers the labels, and the Inventory plan covers stock at a fraction of ShipStation Premium.

Pick ShipStation Standard if you have negotiated carrier rates, ship freight, or want branded tracking and returns for a Shopify brand. Its fee is the price of those features, and its 30-day trial lets you check them first.

Pick ShipStation Premium only for a warehouse operation with several locations that needs purchase orders, scan to receive and auto-routing in one tool.

FAQ

Is Veeqo really free?

Yes. Veeqo's Shipping plan costs nothing, with unlimited orders, users, products and warehouses. Veeqo earns a commission on labels bought through it, so you pay through postage rather than a subscription. Inventory features cost extra, from $19 a month.

How much does ShipStation cost per month?

ShipStation costs $14.99 a month on Starter, $29.99 on Standard and $349.99 on Premium at 50 shipments, billed monthly. Every tier rises with volume, and the annual toggle advertises 20% savings.

Veeqo. Its Shipping plan stays free, and its Inventory plan costs $37 to $50 a month at 701 to 1,000 orders. ShipStation charges $79.99 on Starter and $149.99 on Standard at 1,000 shipments, before postage on either side.

Can I use my own carrier accounts?

ShipStation allows your existing carrier accounts on Standard and Premium, not on Starter. Veeqo's pricing page lists its pre-negotiated rates with Amazon Shipping, UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL and OnTrac, so confirm your contract with Veeqo first.

Does Veeqo work if I don't sell on Amazon?

Yes. Veeqo's FAQ says it ships orders from eBay, Shopify, Walmart, WooCommerce and TikTok Shop as well. Amazon FBA orders are excluded from the paid order volume, which helps Amazon sellers most.
