TL;DR

Veeqo and Pirate Ship are the free options with no monthly label cap. Veeqo's shipping plan costs $0 with unlimited shipments, and it buys rates from six carriers, earning a commission on each label instead of charging a subscription. Pirate Ship has no fee at any volume, but it covers only UPS and USPS, with discounts up to 88% off.

Shippo's Starter plan is free up to 30 labels a month, and its first paid plan starts at $17 a month on annual billing. Ordoro's free plan stops at 100 labels a month, and the next plan is $59 a month. ShipStation has no free plan, only a 30-day trial.

This page compares the free plans as they stand today: the monthly cap, the carriers the free plan buys, the discount it promises, and the exact point where it starts to cost money.

Toolradar data: Toolradar's shipping and fulfillment list holds 43 tools as of October 10, 2026.

Counting the free plans on each vendor's own pricing page, five of the seven below carry a label or shipment cap, and only two run without one.

4 EasyPost logo

EasyPost

Up to 3,000 labels on wallet carriers, the largest capped allowance here. Postage is paid on top, and the fee past the allowance is not published.

Pricing
Free access on wallet carriers for up to 3,000 labels; $20/mo plus fees with your own accounts

  • The Shopify connection imports orders and prints labels from one platform, per its pricing page
  • Bringing your own carrier accounts starts at $20 a month, plus a per-label fee

Cons

  • Postage is excluded from the free access, and the per-label fee past 3,000 labels is not published
  • The page does not say whether the 3,000-label allowance resets each month
5 Shippo logo

Shippo

The free plan covers four carriers, unlimited store connections and automations, up to 30 labels a month. Pro is the next step past the cap.

Pricing
Starter free up to 30 labels a month; Pro $17/mo on annual billing ($205/yr)

  • Bringing your own carrier account costs 5 cents a label on Starter and nothing on Pro
  • Pro adds five user logins, branded tracking pages and chat and phone support

Cons

  • Starter has one user login and a 30-label cap, so a busy month forces the upgrade
  • The Pro price covers the 1 to 200 label tier, and both quoted prices are on annual billing
6 ShippingEasy logo

ShippingEasy

A free starter plan that imports orders from up to three stores and buys discounted USPS and UPS labels. Past 25 shipments a month, the next tier starts.

  • Discounted USPS and UPS rates, plus ConnectEasy at no cost to print labels straight to your printer
  • The Growth tier covers 26 to 200 shipments a month, from $19.99 a month

Cons

  • The free plan names only USPS and UPS, so FedEx and DHL shipments need another tool
  • A 25-shipment cap is tight for a seasonal peak, and the 26th shipment of a month forces a paid tier
7 Sendcloud logo

Sendcloud

A free plan with no courier contract and no subscription for up to 20 parcels a month, built for shipping inside Europe. Its prices are published in euros only.

Pricing

What it is

A free shipping plan is a software tier that imports orders, buys or prints labels, and keeps a carrier discount, with no monthly fee. The free tier is the product, so the limit that matters is where it stops. Some caps count labels, some count shipments or parcels, and a few count users or sales channels.

Read the cap in the unit your business counts, then check what the next plan adds.

Carrier coverage is the second limit. A free plan that buys only USPS and UPS labels leaves a FedEx or DHL order to a second tool.

Discount promises are the third. A tool that names a percentage is easier to check than one that shows a carrier logo with no rate attached.

Why it matters

Shippo's Pro plan, spread over 30 labels, adds about 57 cents to each label before postage. That is why the free tier matters most at low volume, and why a store that has passed its cap should compare the next plan on total cost rather than the headline price.

The usual mistake is picking the free plan with the biggest number when the carrier you need is missing. The right free plan is the one your next 12 months of volume fits inside.

Key features to look for

Monthly capEssential
The count that ends a free plan. Shippo's Starter stops at 30 labels, Ordoro's free plan at 100 and ShippingEasy's at 25 shipments. Veeqo and Pirate Ship list no cap.
Carrier coverage on the free planEssential
Veeqo names six carriers on its free shipping plan and Shippo names four. Pirate Ship covers UPS and USPS, and its UPS discounts apply only to shipments that start in the United States.
Discount promise
Pirate Ship publishes a maximum discount on USPS and UPS rates. Shippo and ShippingEasy promise discounted rates without a published maximum, and Ordoro names no carriers for its discounted rates.
Store connections
Shippo's Starter plan lists unlimited store connections, and ShippingEasy allows up to three stores or marketplaces. Pirate Ship's rates page lists shipping integrations and batch shipping without naming the platforms.
Price of the first upgrade
The first paid step runs from Shippo Pro at $17 a month to Ordoro's Advanced plan at $59. ShippingEasy's Growth tier starts at $19.99 a month, and Veeqo's inventory add-on starts at $19 a month.
Who earns from your labels
Pirate Ship says the carriers pay it rather than you. Veeqo says it earns a small commission on labels bought through it, which is how it can offer shipping free of charge.

Pricing

US dollar prices are quoted as each vendor publishes them, read on October 10, 2026: Pirate Ship rates, Shippo pricing, Veeqo pricing, Ordoro pricing, ShippingEasy pricing and EasyPost pricing.

Sendcloud publishes euro prices only, so its paid figures stay in euros.

Toolradar profiles: Veeqo, Pirate Ship and Shippo.

Easyship lists a free plan without a shipment cap we can confirm, so this page does not rank it.

ShipStation has no free plan: its 30-day trial leads to Starter at $14.99 a month for 50 shipments.

Methodology: we ranked the seven tools on their free plans, applying four tests in order. First, does the free cap clear 50 labels a month?

Second, does the vendor publish what happens past the cap? Third, how many carriers does the free plan buy? Fourth, does the vendor name a discount percentage? Tools that clear the first test rank above those that do not, and the rest follow the same order.

Mistakes to avoid
×Choosing on the biggest free number. EasyPost's 3,000-label allowance looks largest, but postage is excluded and the fee past the allowance is not published.
×Assuming the leader has a free plan. ShipStation offers a 30-day trial and a $14.99 Starter for 50 shipments, not a free tier.
×Forgetting carriers. Pirate Ship covers UPS and USPS only, so one FedEx parcel sends you to a second tool.
×Ignoring the lock. Ordoro's free plan locks the account temporarily above 100 labels a month, which can stop shipping during a busy week.
Expert tips
→Count a 12-month peak, not an average month. A cap that fits January can fail in November.
→Run one real parcel through each free plan's rate screen and compare the postage on your most common service with what you pay today. A free plan only saves money if its rate beats yours.
→Ask which company earns from your labels. Pirate Ship says the carriers pay it, while Veeqo earns a commission on labels bought through it.

The bottom line

For free software with no cap, Veeqo is the widest option, and Pirate Ship is the free route for UPS and USPS labels with no fee at any volume. For up to 30 labels a month with FedEx or DHL Express, Shippo's Starter covers both carriers free.

Past 100 labels a month, Ordoro's free plan is out, and only Veeqo, Pirate Ship and EasyPost's allowance still cover a store for free.

If marketplace fees weigh more than labels, read the Amazon seller fees or eBay seller fees guide before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

Which shipping software is free with no monthly label cap?

Veeqo's shipping plan and Pirate Ship both charge no subscription at any volume, as their pricing pages state today. Veeqo gives rates from Amazon Shipping, UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL and OnTrac and earns a commission on each label. Pirate Ship covers UPS and USPS only, with discounts up to 88%.

Is Shippo's free plan really free?

Yes, for up to 30 labels a month and one user. Starter also carries discounted FedEx and DHL Express labels and unlimited store connections. Past the cap, the Pro plan takes over at $205 a year on annual billing, and bringing your own carrier account costs 5 cents a label on Starter.

Does ShipStation have a free plan?

No. ShipStation offers a 30-day free trial. After that, Starter costs $14.99 a month for 50 shipments, and Standard starts at $29.99 a month for the same volume.

What happens when a free shipping plan runs out?

It depends on the tool. Ordoro's free plan locks the account temporarily above 100 labels a month, until you upgrade or the next billing cycle. Shippo's Starter stops at 30 labels, and ShippingEasy's free tier at 25 shipments. EasyPost charges a per-label fee past its allowance, though the amount is not published.

Can a US seller use Sendcloud's free plan?

Not for US parcels. Sendcloud's shipping support covers eight European countries, including the UK, and its prices are published in euros only. The free plan covers up to 20 parcels a month, so use it only for parcels that leave from those countries.
