Klaviyo vs Omnisend 2026: Price at Every List Size

Klaviyo vs Omnisend in 2026: Omnisend Standard is cheaper at every list size, Klaviyo wins on data depth. Prices at 500 to 50,000 contacts, read October 2026.

Klaviyo vs Omnisend 2026: Price at Every List Size

Omnisend is the cheaper platform at every list size in 2026, and Klaviyo is the deeper one. At 5,000 contacts Omnisend Standard costs $81/mo against $100/mo for Klaviyo's email plan, and at 50,000 the gap widens to $413 against $720. Both are free up to 250 contacts. Pick Klaviyo if your flows depend on predictive data and a large integration catalog; pick Omnisend if the email bill is the decision. Prices read on both vendors' US pricing pages on 17 October 2026.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, evaluated 108 email marketing tools for its October 2026 ranking, and it tracks both Klaviyo and Omnisend. Dupple's own newsletters are sent on beehiiv, so we run neither platform for our lists. Our view: the two products have converged on features faster than on price, which is why the list-size table below decides more than the feature grid does.

Best for Stores whose revenue runs through data-driven flows Stores that want email, SMS and push on one lower bill

The table carries the whole argument. Klaviyo charges more at every band and gives fewer sends per contact, and it answers with a product built around customer data. Omnisend bundles channels and support into a cheaper plan, and it is the one to beat on cost.

What each platform costs at 500 to 50,000 contacts

Both vendors price by the size of your list, not by how much you send, so the right comparison is the monthly bill at your contact count. Klaviyo counts active profiles, the people you can email, and moves you to the next band automatically when the count passes it. Omnisend counts subscribers plus any non-subscriber who received an automated message, and does not bill unsubscribed contacts. The figures below are monthly list prices on month-to-month billing, read on 17 October 2026.

Contacts Klaviyo Email Klaviyo email sends Omnisend Standard Omnisend Standard sends Omnisend Pro
500 $20 5,000 $16 6,000 $59
1,000 $30 10,000 $20 12,000 $59
2,500 $60 25,000 $44 30,000 $59
5,000 $100 50,000 $81 60,000 $90
10,000 $150 100,000 $132 120,000 $150
50,000 $720 500,000 $413 600,000 $715

Omnisend Standard undercuts Klaviyo at every row, by $4 a month at the smallest list and by $307 a month at 50,000 contacts. Over a year that is $228 saved at 5,000 contacts and $3,684 at 50,000, before any SMS spend. The gap is narrowest in the middle: at 10,000 contacts Omnisend Standard is $18 a month cheaper, and Omnisend Pro costs exactly what Klaviyo's email plan does.

Omnisend Pro is the interesting line for a store that texts. Its price sits above Standard, but it includes unlimited emails under a fair-use cap of 60 sends per contact and SMS credits worth the same amount as the plan. Klaviyo sells SMS as a separate plan on top of email, so a store that wants both channels on Klaviyo is paying two line items.

A new Omnisend account also gets 30% off when it prepays three months, which turns the first Standard bill at 500 contacts into $11.20 a month, after which the list price applies. Klaviyo's pricing page has no annual discount, so twelve monthly bills are the yearly cost on both platforms unless you take the Omnisend prepay.

Round 1: email price. Omnisend wins

The list-size table settles this round. Omnisend Standard is cheaper at every band we checked and ships 12 sends per contact against Klaviyo's 10, so a store sending three campaigns a week plus flows has more room before it hits a cap. Klaviyo's sends are generous enough for most stores, but a Black Friday month on a 5,000-profile list can push past 50,000 sends on Klaviyo while still clearing 60,000 on Omnisend.

The price difference is small at the bottom. Under 1,000 contacts the two are $4 to $10 apart, which is less than one abandoned-cart recovery, so a tiny store should choose on fit. Above 25,000 contacts the gap becomes the deciding number, because Klaviyo's bands climb faster than Omnisend's. Our Klaviyo pricing guide walks the Klaviyo bands one by one, including the SMS plan and the limited-time first-month offer.

Round 2: SMS. Omnisend wins on bundling, Klaviyo on scale

Klaviyo's mobile plan starts at $15/mo for 1,250 SMS or MMS credits, with carrier fees included, and climbs in credit packs: $25 for 2,500, $45 for 5,000 and $90 for 10,000. The free plan includes 150 credits a month. A 5,000-profile store sending one text campaign a month to half its list pays about $125/mo on Klaviyo, the email plan plus the 2,500-credit pack.

Omnisend Pro gives the same store credits worth its monthly plan, and US texts cost $0.009 each for small credit purchases, falling to $0.007 above $10,000 of SMS spend. At the $0.0085 rate that applies between $50 and $999.99 of spend, the $90 Pro plan at 5,000 contacts carries roughly 10,500 US texts, four times the Klaviyo pack, for $35 a month less.

Klaviyo's advantage is reach and tooling: its SMS plan covers more destinations from the calculator, and its texting sits on the same profile data as email, so a flow can branch on predicted lifetime value or churn risk. A store with a serious SMS program and an international list should price both; a US store adding texts to abandoned carts is cheaper on Omnisend Pro. Our best SMS apps for Shopify ranking covers the specialist options too.

Round 3: data and automation. Klaviyo wins

Klaviyo's paid email plan lists unified customer profiles with unlimited historical data, more than 350 integrations, predictive analytics and reporting dashboards, and real-time segments. That is the reason agencies default to it: a flow can key on predicted next order date or expected spend, and a segment can combine web behaviour, order history and help-desk data without an export. Klaviyo also sells reviews, a customer hub, a help desk and a Customer Agent on the same bill, which makes it a customer-data platform with an email tool attached.

Omnisend covers the automations most stores run, with abandoned cart, browse abandonment, welcome and post-purchase flows, forms, popups and unlimited web push on paid plans, plus product recommendations and send-time optimisation on Pro. Its AI tools come in two sets, two essential tools on Standard and five advanced tools on Pro, where Klaviyo's predictive features come with the plan. For a store whose growth plan is "send better flows", Klaviyo's extra data earns the $19 difference at 5,000 contacts. For a store that needs the standard flows done well, it does not. The cart abandonment guide shows which flows move revenue on either tool.

Round 4: support and onboarding. Omnisend wins

Omnisend offers 24/7 live chat and email support to every account, including free ones, a 5-day free migration that moves contacts, data and segments, and a dedicated account expert for any account spending over $400/mo. Klaviyo's free plan gets email support for the first 60 days only, then community and education resources; paid plans get email and chat, and customer success managers are reserved for its highest tiers.

For a founder running the stack alone, the Omnisend arrangement removes a cost that does not show on the pricing page. A Klaviyo migration at 10,000 profiles is either a weekend of your time or an agency invoice. Paid Omnisend plans also drop the "Powered by Omnisend" badge, while Klaviyo lets paid accounts remove its branding after verification.

Round 5: fit with Shopify. Tie

Both sell through the Shopify App Store with USD billing every 30 days, and both sync products, orders and customers for flows and segments. Klaviyo's catalog of 350-plus integrations stretches further into review platforms, loyalty programs, help desks and subscription apps, which matters once a store runs a stack of ten apps. Omnisend's Shopify listing promises the same core sync and adds web push and forms in the same app, so a smaller store needs fewer installs.

Our best email marketing for Shopify ranking places both near the top, and the best Shopify apps list shows where each sits in a full stack. On a WooCommerce or BigCommerce store the same comparison holds, since both platforms integrate with the major carts.

Who should pick Klaviyo

  • Stores past $1M a year with a data team or an agency. Predictive analytics, unlimited history and 350-plus integrations turn into revenue when someone builds on them, and the price gap is a rounding error at that scale.
  • Brands running reviews, help desk and marketing on one profile. Klaviyo sells all three, so a customer's review, ticket and purchase history drive the same flow.
  • International SMS programs. Klaviyo's mobile calculator prices more destinations and channels, including WhatsApp, from one plan.

Read our Klaviyo review for the product verdict on Klaviyo's flows, forms and reporting.

Who should pick Omnisend

  • Stores under 10,000 contacts that watch every dollar. Standard is cheaper at every band and ships more sends per contact, and the three-month prepay cuts the first quarter by 30%.
  • US stores adding SMS to email. Pro's bundled credits cover a monthly text campaign that costs a separate plan on Klaviyo.
  • Solo operators who will use support. 24/7 chat on the free plan and a free migration are worth real money to a store with no in-house help.

Our Omnisend review covers the automations, the AI tools and the limits of the Standard plan in detail. If neither fits, Privy prices email from $30/mo on mailable contacts only, which suits a store with a large but quiet list.

How we built this page

We read Klaviyo's US pricing calculator and Omnisend's US pricing page on 17 October 2026, plus both apps' Shopify App Store listings for billing terms. The scenario figures are our arithmetic on those list prices and are not vendor quotes. We did not run campaigns on either platform for this page. Toolradar's catalog count comes from its October 2026 email marketing ranking, and Toolradar's own Klaviyo vs Omnisend page holds the data view. We re-check prices when either vendor changes a band. Louis Corneloup, who founded Toolradar and Dupple, edited it.

FAQ

Is Omnisend cheaper than Klaviyo?

Yes, at every list size we checked on 17 October 2026. Omnisend Standard costs $16/mo at 500 contacts against Klaviyo's $20/mo, $81 against $100 at 5,000, and $413 against $720 at 50,000. Omnisend Pro, which adds unlimited emails and SMS credits, costs about the same as Klaviyo's email plan at 10,000 contacts and slightly less at 50,000.

How much does Klaviyo cost for 5,000 contacts?

Klaviyo's email plan is $100/mo at 3,501 to 5,000 active profiles, with 50,000 email sends a month. Adding the 2,500-credit SMS pack brings the bill to $125/mo. The same list on Omnisend costs $81/mo on Standard or $90/mo on Pro, with Pro including SMS credits worth the plan price.

Does Klaviyo or Omnisend have a free plan?

Both do, and both stop at 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Klaviyo's free plan adds 150 SMS credits and email support for the first 60 days. Omnisend's adds 500 web push notifications and 24/7 chat support from day one.

Which is better for SMS marketing, Klaviyo or Omnisend?

Omnisend Pro is cheaper for a US store, because the plan includes SMS credits equal to its price and US texts cost $0.007 to $0.009 each. Klaviyo sells SMS as a separate plan from $15/mo for 1,250 credits, but prices more international destinations and ties texts to its predictive profile data, which suits larger programs.

Can I switch from Klaviyo to Omnisend?

Omnisend offers a free migration that moves contacts, data and segments in about five days, and its pricing page advertises savings against Klaviyo as a reason to move. Flows and templates still need rebuilding on the new platform, so plan the switch between campaigns rather than before a peak.

Does either platform charge extra for email sends?

Both include a send allowance in the plan. Klaviyo includes 10 sends per profile per month, so 50,000 at 5,000 profiles, and Omnisend Standard includes 12 per contact, so 60,000. Omnisend Pro is unlimited under a fair-use cap of 60 sends per contact. Pass the allowance and both ask you to move up a plan or buy more.
