Stamps.com Pricing 2026: Is the Monthly Fee Worth It?

Stamps.com costs $14.99 a month on Basic, $29.99 on Professional and $49.99 on Multi-Location in 2026, billed monthly after a 30-day trial, with postage paid on top. Basic caps you at 10 shipping labels and 25 stamps a month, so most online sellers land on Professional. Prices read on Stamps.com's pricing page on October 19, 2026.

Every Stamps.com figure here comes from Stamps.com's pricing page, read on 19 October 2026, and the rival figures from Shippo's pricing page, ShipStation's pricing page, Pirate Ship's site and USPS's Click-N-Ship page the same day. Our view: the fee is worth paying when you print stamps, send Certified Mail or share one account across an office. If you only ship USPS or UPS parcels from a store, free tools now do that job.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 46 shipping and fulfillment tools as of October 19, 2026. Among the 12 with a verified entry price on a comparable basis, Stamps.com's Basic plan ranks 4th cheapest, below the $24.50 median; its Toolradar profile shows the full position.

Every plan prints stamps, shipping labels and return labels, reaches UPS, USPS and FedEx at discounted rates, schedules free carrier pickups and includes the rate comparison tool, address verification and the mobile and desktop apps. Stamps.com advertises up to 90% off carrier rates on every plan; its own footnote limits those rates to shipments from the continental US, excluding Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Alaska.

What Professional adds is the difference between a mail tool and a shipping tool. Certified Mail and Registered Mail, international carriers, multi-address batch label printing, envelope and label customization, recipient tracking emails, reporting, cost codes, the QuickBooks Online integration and live chat and phone support all start there. Multi-Location adds linked accounts across offices, location permissions, reporting by location and a dedicated account manager.

How much does Stamps.com cost per month?

The answer depends on how many labels you print, because Basic's cap is tight. Ten shipping labels a month is about two parcels a week, a pace that a hobby seller can pass in one good weekend of orders. Past that, the only route is Professional, the plan Stamps.com marks as most popular.

Note the wording on the two larger plans: the pricing table says Professional "starts at" its list price and Multi-Location "starts at" its own, which suggests the bill can rise with add-ons such as extra users. Every plan lets you buy additional users, but the pricing page prints no per-user price, so ask for it before you add a fourth person to Professional.

Billing is monthly only. The pricing page shows no yearly plan or annual discount, and its FAQ says you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time with no long-term commitment. That flexibility has a real use for sellers: a store can run Professional through the holiday rush and drop to Basic, or cancel, in a quiet month.

By our arithmetic, a year on each plan at list price comes to $179.88 on Basic, $359.88 on Professional and $599.88 on Multi-Location, before postage, extra users or insurance.

What Stamps.com really costs per label

The scenario: a US store printing parcel labels, paying each tool's monthly fee, with postage excluded because it depends on each parcel's weight, size and zone. The Stamps.com and Shippo figures are subscription fees divided by labels, our arithmetic on published prices, not vendor quotes.

Labels per month Stamps.com plan Fee Fee per label Shippo, billed monthly ShipStation Starter Pirate Ship
10 Basic $14.99 $1.50 Free (Starter) Same fee as Stamps.com Basic (50 shipments) Free
100 Professional $29.99 30¢ $19 (Pro, up to 200) Same fee as Stamps.com Professional (100 shipments) Free
500 Professional Same flat fee 6¢ $29 (Pro, 201 to 500) $39.99 (500 shipments) Free
1,000 Professional Same flat fee 3¢ $54 (Pro, 501 to 1,000) $79.99 (1,000 shipments) Free

The table tells three stories. At low volume Stamps.com is the expensive option: 10 labels on Basic cost about $1.50 each in fees, while Shippo's free Starter plan covers up to 30 labels and Pirate Ship charges nothing at any volume. At 100 labels, Professional and ShipStation's matching tier cost the same, and Shippo is cheaper.

At high volume the flat fee wins. Because Professional has no label cap, its fee per label keeps falling: by 1,000 labels a month it is about 3 cents a label, below Shippo's $54 band and well below ShipStation's 1,000-shipment tier. A store that prints thousands of labels and needs FedEx, which Pirate Ship does not sell, gets the lowest subscription bill of the three paid tools on Stamps.com.

The tools are not doing the same job, though. ShipStation's plans are built around store orders, automations and multiple users (3 on Starter), and Shippo's Pro band adds pick lists and branded tracking pages. Stamps.com's plan table is built around mail: stamps, Certified Mail, envelopes and office pickups. Our Shippo pricing and ShipStation pricing pages price those tools band by band, and the ShipStation review covers what its order tools add.

Fees outside the subscription

Stamps.com's FAQ says the bill is the monthly plan fee plus postage, carrier services and optional add-ons such as insurance or special delivery features, each charged by usage. In practice, budget for five lines:

  • Postage. Paid on every stamp and label at Stamps.com's discounted carrier rates. Rates and discounts can change without notice, the footnote says, and FedEx discounts exclude surcharges and minimum charges.
  • Extra users. Available on every plan, at a price the pricing page does not print.
  • Extra locations on Multi-Location. Two offices are included; more are available on request, at a price you get from sales.
  • Insurance and special services. Optional and charged per shipment that uses them, so a store that insures every parcel should price that line before comparing plans.
  • Hardware. A thermal label printer is a one-time cost on any tool. Our cheapest shipping label printers page prices the options, and the best shipping label printers guide covers faster models.

Signup also includes free postage and supplies, per the feature table, which offsets part of the first month. The 30-day trial is billed nothing; the monthly charge starts after it, dated from your original signup, unless you cancel first.

Is the Stamps.com monthly fee worth it?

Yes, for three kinds of buyer. An office or small business that sends letters, invoices or legal notices gets the thing the free tools lack: printed stamps and Certified or Registered Mail from a desk printer, with tracking and proof of delivery. A store printing hundreds or thousands of labels a month across UPS, USPS and FedEx gets a flat fee that shrinks per label as volume grows. And a business with two offices or mailrooms gets shared settings, permissions and reporting on Multi-Location.

No, for most small online sellers who ship parcels only. If every parcel goes by USPS or UPS, Pirate Ship charges no monthly fee and says it is paid by the carriers, not by you; our Pirate Ship review covers what that free account includes. USPS's own Click-N-Ship also prints labels from a free USPS.com account with discounted pricing, though only for USPS. And a seller under 30 labels a month who wants FedEx or DHL Express can stay on Shippo's free Starter plan; the Pirate Ship vs Shippo comparison weighs those two.

The trap in between is Basic. It looks like the cheap way in, but 10 labels a month runs out quickly for a store, and international carriers, batch printing and phone support are all missing. If you would hit the cap, compare Professional directly with Shippo's band for your volume instead of starting on Basic.

Stamps.com vs the free and cheaper options

Stamps.com Professional Flat monthly fee, unlimited labels UPS, USPS, FedEx and more Offices mailing letters and stores printing high label volumes

ShipStation Priced by shipment volume, from 50 shipments a month Multiple carriers Multichannel stores that need automations and several users
Pirate Ship No monthly fee USPS and UPS Parcel-only sellers who never need FedEx
USPS Click-N-Ship Free USPS.com account USPS only Occasional USPS shipments with no software at all

Which Stamps.com plan should I choose?

  • Basic if you mail letters and print fewer than 10 shipping labels a month, alone, and can live with chatbot and help center support.
  • Professional if you ship more than 10 labels a month, send Certified Mail, need international carriers or batch printing, or want phone support. Ask for the extra-user price if three users is not enough.
  • Multi-Location if two or more offices share postage and need separate permissions and reporting; get a quote for any office beyond the two included.
  • Not Stamps.com if you ship USPS or UPS parcels only and print no stamps: start with Pirate Ship, or with Shippo if you need FedEx under 30 labels a month.

How we built this page

We read Stamps.com's pricing page, including its plan cards, feature table, footnotes and FAQ, on 19 October 2026, along with the pricing pages of Shippo and ShipStation, Pirate Ship's home page and USPS's Click-N-Ship page the same day. Fees per label and yearly totals are our arithmetic on those published prices, with postage excluded, and are not vendor quotes. We did not open a Stamps.com account for this page. The Toolradar figures come from its shipping and fulfillment ranking dated October 19, 2026. We re-check the page when Stamps.com changes a plan, a cap or a price.

FAQ

How much does Stamps.com cost per month in 2026?

Stamps.com Basic costs $14.99 a month, Professional starts at $29.99 and Multi-Location starts at $49.99, all billed monthly after a 30-day trial, as read on Stamps.com's pricing page on 19 October 2026. Postage, insurance and extra users are charged on top.

Does Stamps.com have a free plan?

No. Every plan carries a monthly fee after the 30-day trial, during which you are not charged. Pirate Ship has no monthly fee for USPS and UPS labels, Shippo's Starter plan is free for up to 30 labels a month, and USPS Click-N-Ship works from a free USPS.com account.

How many labels can I print on Stamps.com Basic?

Basic allows 10 shipping labels and 25 stamps a month for one user. Professional and Multi-Location have no monthly label or stamp limit, so a seller who ships more than about two parcels a week needs Professional.

Is Stamps.com cheaper than ShipStation?

At 100 labels a month the two cost the same, since Stamps.com Professional and ShipStation Starter's 100-shipment tier carry the same monthly fee. Above that, Stamps.com is cheaper because Professional has no label cap: at 1,000 labels, ShipStation Starter costs $79.99 a month. ShipStation adds store order management and automations that Stamps.com's plan table does not list.

Can I pay for Stamps.com yearly?

The pricing page shows monthly billing only, with no yearly discount. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time, so a seasonal store can move to Professional for its busy months and back down afterward.

Is Stamps.com worth it for a small online store?

Only if you print stamps, send Certified Mail or ship enough labels across FedEx and other carriers for the flat Professional fee to fall to a few cents a label. A store shipping USPS or UPS parcels only pays no software fee on Pirate Ship.
