  • Updated: October 30, 2026
  • Prices as of: October 2026
  • 4 plans compared: Free, Standard, Pro, Custom
  • Free (best for: Testing flows before a store has traffic): $0
  • Standard (best for: Stores that sell mostly through email): From $16/mo
  • Pro (best for: Stores that send SMS as well as email): From $59/mo
  • Custom (best for: Large lists and high send volume): Quote only

Omnisend is free for up to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, then Standard costs $16/mo for 251 to 500 contacts and Pro costs $59/mo for up to 2,500 contacts, as of October 2026 on Omnisend's US pricing page. Paying the first three months upfront takes 30% off them, which is why the page advertises $11.20 and $41.30, and lists above 150,000 contacts get a custom quote.

Our take: Standard is the right plan for a store that mostly emails, and Pro earns its place only once you text customers regularly, because most of its extra cost comes back as SMS credit. The tables below show where that line falls at your list size, so you can price your own store in a minute.

Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, evaluated 108 email marketing tools for its October 2026 ranking, and Omnisend is one of the platforms it tracks. Dupple's own newsletters are sent on beehiiv, so we do not run Omnisend for our lists.

How much does Omnisend cost per month?

Your contact count sets the bill, not the number of campaigns you send. Omnisend counts subscribers plus any non-subscriber who received an automated message, such as a buyer who got an order confirmation, and it does not bill unsubscribed contacts. That means cleaning a list lowers the bill only when the dormant people are unsubscribed, so archiving them in a segment is not enough.

Contacts Standard per month Standard email sends Pro per month
0 to 250 Free plan 500 Free plan
251 to 500 $16 6,000 $59
501 to 1,000 $20 12,000 Same entry price
1,501 to 2,000 $30 24,000 Same entry price
2,001 to 2,500 $44 30,000 Same entry price
2,501 to 3,000 $50 36,000 $70
4,501 to 5,000 $81 60,000 $90
9,001 to 10,000 $132 120,000 $150
23,501 to 25,000 $282 300,000 $400
45,001 to 50,000 $413 600,000 $715
95,001 to 100,000 $900 1,200,000 $1,334
145,001 to 150,000 $1,456 1,800,000 $1,914

These are the tiers from Omnisend's own pricing calculator, which has finer steps between the rows shown. Pro's email column is missing on purpose: Pro sends are unlimited, with a fair-use ceiling of 60 emails per contact a month.

Three band edges deserve a note in your planning spreadsheet:

  • 2,000 to 2,001 contacts. Standard jumps from $30 to $44, a 47% rise for one extra contact. A store hovering near 2,000 should clean its list before the billing date.
  • 10,000 to 10,001 contacts. Standard moves from $132 to $150, an $18 step at the round number most stores aim for.
  • 100,000 to 100,001 contacts. Standard rises from $900 to $988, so the first contact past six figures costs $88 a month.

The good news is that each contact gets cheaper as the list grows: Standard works out to about 3.2 cents per contact at 500 and under 1 cent at 50,000, our arithmetic on the published tiers. A growing store pays more in total but less for every new subscriber it adds.

What does the 30% prepay discount really save?

The headline prices of $11.20 for Standard and $41.30 for Pro are the 30% discount spread over three prepaid months. You pay three months at once, then normal monthly billing starts in month four. The checkout on the pricing page shows it plainly: three months of Standard at 500 contacts list at $48 and cost $33.60 today.

Plan and list size First 3 months at list First 3 months prepaid Year-one total with prepay Year-one total at list
Standard, 500 contacts $48 $33.60 $177.60 $192
Standard, 5,000 contacts $243 $170.10 $899.10 $972
Pro, 2,500 contacts $177 $123.90 $654.90 $708
Pro, 5,000 contacts $270 $189 $999 $1,080

The year-one totals are our arithmetic: the prepaid quarter plus nine months at the list price. The discount is a one-time onboarding offer worth about 7.5% of the first year, not a lasting annual-billing rate. Budget the list price from month four, because that is what you will pay every month after.

Standard vs Pro: when is Pro worth the extra cost?

Pro is worth it once you send SMS at any real volume, because Omnisend's FAQ says Pro includes SMS credits equal to your monthly bill. The price gap between the plans is small in the middle of the range and wide at the top:

Contacts Standard Pro (and its SMS credit) Extra cost of Pro
500 Entry tier Entry tier $43
2,500 $44 Entry tier $15
5,000 $81 $90 $9
10,000 $132 $150 $18
50,000 $413 $715 $302

Pro's SMS credit equals the Pro price in each row, so at 5,000 contacts the $9 premium returns $90 of texting.

Read the table as a break-even test. At 5,000 contacts, a store that would buy even $9 of texts a month comes out ahead on Pro, and it also gets unlimited email, five AI tools instead of two, and the product recommender. At 500 contacts the math flips: Pro costs nearly four times Standard, so a small store texting a few hundred people should stay on Standard and buy SMS separately.

The large-list case is subtler. At 50,000 contacts Pro costs $302 more, but it returns $715 of SMS credit, so a store already spending that much on texts saves money. A store that rarely texts is paying $302 a month for sends it does not need, since Standard's 600,000 sends already cover a dozen emails per contact.

How much does Omnisend SMS cost?

SMS is pay as you go on every plan, bought as credits at a per-message rate that falls with volume. For US numbers, Omnisend's pricing page lists:

Monthly SMS spend Price per US text
$10 to $49.99 $0.009
$50 to $999.99 $0.0085
$1,000 to $9,999.99 $0.008
$10,000 and more $0.007

Rates vary by country, and Omnisend labels them estimates. MMS, a text with an image or GIF, works only for US and Canadian recipients, while plain SMS goes out globally. At the $0.0085 rate, the $90 of credit bundled with Pro at 5,000 contacts buys roughly 10,600 US texts, our arithmetic. That is two texts a month to every contact on the list, enough for an abandoned-cart message plus one promotion.

A store that sends text-heavy drops should compare this per-message pricing with the specialists in our SMS marketing apps for Shopify ranking before committing.

What the Free plan includes

The Free plan is more than a trial: it has no time limit, needs no credit card, and Omnisend says it carries the features of the paid plans. Its limits are 250 contacts, 500 emails and 500 web push notifications a month. Signup forms and emails carry a "Powered by Omnisend" badge, which is optional on Standard and Pro.

Support is the quiet strength here. Omnisend offers 24/7 live chat and email support on every plan, including Free, and a free migration of contacts, data and segments from another platform. For a founder with 200 subscribers, that is a working email program at $0 while the store finds its first customers. Our guide to reducing cart abandonment lists the flows worth building first.

Hidden costs and limits

Omnisend's pricing has fewer add-on line items than most rivals, but a few charges sit outside the plan price:

  • Standard add-ons. Personalized content and personalized sending time are optional add-ons on Standard, each from $5/mo and scaling with list size. Pro includes both.
  • Send caps on Standard. Pass 12 sends per contact and Omnisend asks you to upgrade; it says it always asks before changing your plan.
  • SMS beyond Pro's credit. Texting past the included credit is billed at the per-message rates above.
  • Card types. Omnisend accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express, not Discover, Diners Club, JCB or UnionPay.
  • Automated messages to buyers. Non-subscribers who receive an automated email count toward your tier, so a busy order-confirmation flow can push you into a higher band.

The one perk tied to spend: any Standard or Pro account paying $400 or more a month gets a dedicated account expert at no charge, which applies to Standard from roughly 45,000 contacts.

Is Omnisend cheaper than Klaviyo?

At the entry paid tier, yes: Omnisend Standard undercuts the $20 that Klaviyo charges for its Email plan at 251 to 500 profiles, per Klaviyo's pricing page read the same day. Klaviyo's Email plus SMS plan starts at $35/mo, and the two free plans carry the same contact and send caps, so a pre-launch store can build its flows on either without paying.

The gap widens as lists grow, and our Klaviyo vs Omnisend comparison runs both price curves side by side from 500 to 50,000 contacts. If you are leaning toward Klaviyo, our Klaviyo pricing breakdown covers its profile bands and add-ons, and the Klaviyo review covers what its higher price buys. Toolradar keeps a Klaviyo vs Omnisend comparison and a Klaviyo profile too.

Is Omnisend worth it for a Shopify store?

For most small and mid-size stores, yes, as long as email is a revenue channel and not an afterthought. Standard at 5,000 contacts is $81 a month for 60,000 sends, pre-built cart, welcome and post-purchase flows, and unlimited web push. That is a modest line next to Shopify's own plan fees and the Shopify subscription itself.

The case weakens in two places. A store above 25,000 contacts that wants predictive analytics may find Klaviyo's data tools worth the premium. A store sending one newsletter a month to a big, quiet list pays Omnisend for contacts it rarely mails; Privy, which prices on mailable contacts, is covered in our Privy review. Our full Omnisend review weighs the automations and AI tools, and the email marketing for Shopify ranking places it against the rest of the field.

How we built this page

Every Omnisend price comes from its US pricing page and the tier calculator on that page, read on 18 October 2026, and the Klaviyo comparison uses Klaviyo's own pricing page from the same day. Year-one totals, per-contact costs and SMS volumes are our arithmetic on those published figures, not Omnisend quotes. We did not run an Omnisend account for this page. We re-check it when Omnisend changes a plan or tier. Louis Corneloup, who founded Toolradar and Dupple, edited it.
